Should I Buy Bitcoin or Ethereum?

Ethereum and bitcoin are perhaps the most popular cryptocurrencies in today’s markets, based on data from the popular ethereum classic prediction platform and other indicators. Bitcoin and Ethereum are also two of the largest cryptocurrencies in terms of market capitalization and trading volumes, but when looking beyond their shared popularity, the two are quite different. Ethereum has better technology and provides more utility than Bitcoin, however, Bitcoin has lower supply and is more liquid than Ethereum.

Which brings us to our second reason why Ethereum is a better buy in the long run compared to Bitcoin. There are several key reasons why Ethereum may be the better long-term buy right now. Heres why Ethereum is a great investment if you are interested in investing in cryptos other than Bitcoin.

Whether or not you should sell Ethereum depends on your investment time horizon, risk appetite, and financial goals. If you are a more savvy investor, you might be willing to swap out part of your existing cryptocurrency holdings for another cryptocurrency type – say, bitcoin for ether. Even if you decide to buy both Bitcoin and Ethereum, your personal financial goals and cryptocurrency knowledge can play a large role in how much money you devote to each coin.

While it is not a direct comparison like bitcoin vs. gold, some experts have likened investing in Ethereum to investing in a technology company. Ryan Watkins and Ehrlich said that in terms of pricing Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other cryptocurrencies, it is best to avoid comparing the two, as bitcoin and Ethereum have different use cases. Bitcoin, in comparison with Ethereum, is considered to be a more stable investment, and metrics for measuring the value of Bitcoin are considered more clearly defined, since they are frequently compared with gold, which has established ways for investors to estimate the value of gold, said Watkins, who noted that he does not provide investment advice.

The performance of bitcoin (BTC) and ether (ETH) is generally used as a reference point for measuring the general health of the cryptocurrency market, although you can buy bitcoin instantly with debit card payments, more readily than other cryptos. Bitcoin (BTC) and ETH are both digital currencies, but Ethers (ETH) main goal is not to establish itself as an alternative monetary system, but rather to facilitate and monetize the operations of smart contracts and the decentralized application (dapp) platform on the Ethereum network. Ethereum is yet another use-case of the Blockchain supporting Bitcoin (BTC), and in theory, it is not supposed to actually compete with Bitcoin.

Ethereum (ETH) also allows payments using its own in-house cryptocurrency, the ETH, but by design, it is far more extensive in scope than Bitcoin. Ethereum is generally used for more complicated financial transactions than those supported by Bitcoin. Transactions in Bitcoin are required to transfer cryptocurrency only, whereas the Ethereum Blockchain, which is much sought after, is used for various functions. We believe that ether is a good long-term investment over the next one or three years, and we are bullish overall.
